Last weekend, March 15th to 17th, ISOF togheter with ISMAR CNR participated again at the Mineral Show 2024, held at the Unipol Arena in our beautiful Bologna. The event gathers geology experts and enthusiasts from all over Italy and provides moments to experience several geology-related activites. CNR researchers with the collaboration of geology students and collegues from the University of Parma, organized and managed three of these activities: Bettergeoedu is a minecraft digital mod that introduces young players to the study of rocks and to circular economy; “rock recognition” challenges participants to recognize some geological samples with the help of identification keys; Raw Materials Fight is a Yu-Gi-Oh inspired collectible card game where players, especially children, come in contact with some key concepts related to the topic of critical raw materials.

During these three days of action, our researchers involved hundreds of enthusiastic people. The entire activity was organized and promoted in the framework of the national project “Change The Game: giocare per prepararsi alle sfide di una società sostenibile” funded by CNR in which ISOF is involved together with other ten CNR institutes of Italy.
