Sustainable Chemistry

Chemistry is a matter of methodologies and processes, considering also thermodynamic and kinetic effects. It deals with the transformation of matter, producing new molecules … but also wastes. Efficiency in synthetic chemistry considers time, mass and energy parameters, but also safety and operations should be taken into account when new synthetic approaches are being designed.

In a single concept, sustainability criteria are on the need to make chemistry not only a fascinating science, but also an acceptable human activity for our society.

Technology can help chemists in this endeavour and, even better, integrate technologies can synergistically co-operate in making chemists’ efforts more efficient, more sustainable, and finally acceptable to ensure the wealth of our society.
