We are looking for a highly motivated researcher to join our efforts and carry out research activities related to the use of transition metals as photosensitisers, the photochemical/photophysical characterisation of molecules and materials and the theoretical characterisation at the DFT level to assess the photophysical and electrochemical properties of complexes.

The expected start date for this position is January 1st, 2024

Project Description

The successful candidate will join our experimental group in carrying out research activities at the Institute for Organic Synthesis and Photoreactivity of the CNR, as part of the research programme ”Network 4 Energy Sustainable Transition”.

The job location is at CNR-ISOF Institute (Bologna, Italy).

Start date of the project: 01/11/2022 end date: 31/10/2025.

Job Description/Responsibilities

You will perform experimental research, both individually and as part of our team, in the field of NEST – Network 4 Energy Sustainable Transition project.

Depending on your background and interests, you may contribute to aspects such as the following:

  • the use of transition metals as photosensitisers,

  • the photochemical/photophysical characterisation of molecules and materials in solution, in powder, on solid supports and matrices and on photoelectrodes

  • the theoretical characterisation at the DFT level to assess the photophysical and electrochemical properties of the above-mentioned complexes.

Qualifications

a) Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry obtained in accordance with the regulations in force prior to Ministerial Decree 509/99, or Master’s degree (Ministerial Decree 5 May 2004) in Chemical Sciences, a professional curriculum suitable for carrying out research activities and a minimum three-year research doctorate qualification relevant to the experience required

b) All qualifications obtained abroad (degree diploma, doctorate and any other qualifications) must be, as a rule, previously recognized in Italy according to the legislation in force subject (information on the website of the Ministry of University and Scientific Research: https://www.mur.gov.it/ithttps://www.mur.gov.it/it/aree-tematiche/afam/offerta-formativa-afam/riconoscimenti-titoli-esteri-afam).

The equivalence of the aforementioned qualifications obtained abroad that have not already been recognized in Italy with the foreseen formal procedure mentioned above, will be evaluated, solely for the purpose of admission of the candidate for this selection, by the selection board set up pursuant to art. 6, paragraph 1 of the Disciplinary;

c) experience in the research field as described in art. 1 and in art. 4 of the official call for application;

d) knowledge of the English language;

e) knowledge of the Italian language (only for foreign candidates)

Contract Terms
This position is a full-time temporary employment for one year, renewable for multiple years.
