BiographyBachelor’s degree in Chemistry (2010) and Master’s degree in Photochemistry and Molecular Materials (2013) from UNIBO; PhD in Chemical Sciences (2018) from UNIBO. M.Z. received the G.P. Spada Award for the best PhD thesis in the CHIM/03 sector. He is the author and co-author of over 30 publications, 2 book chapters, and co-inventor of 1 Italian patent. He has participated in several national and international projects both as principal investigator and as a contributing researcher. He has also served as an evaluator for various doctoral theses and as a guest editor for international peer-reviewed journals.

ResearchDesign, synthesis, and functionalization of π-conjugated organic molecules for optoelectronic and biological applications; supramolecular self-assembly into structures of different dimensionalities and in-vivo; development of photoresponsive materials for photodynamic therapy and actuation in living organisms.
