  • Biography
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) PhD fellow apart of the NO-CANCER-NET doctoral consortium. Early-stage reseacher with a specialised background in synthetic chemistry and polymer therapeutics, now focused on developing photo-responsive and functional nanomaterials for biomedical applications, within the Varchi Lab group. She completed her Master of Sciences degree in Chemistry at the University of Pretoria (2023) and is now enrolled under the 40th-cycle of the degree PhD in Nanoscience for Medicine and the Environment at the University of Bologna.
  • Research
Specific research is focused on the development (rationale design, synthesis and characterisation) of novel, multi-modal, light-activated, nitric oxide-based molecular conjugates for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer. Research area is generally focused on synthetic organic chemistry for the development of combination nanomaterials for anticancer or antiviral applications.
