BiographySebastian Barata-Vallejo is an Argentine-Italian researcher who earned degrees in Pharmacy (2007) and Biochemistry (2010) and obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) in 2012 under the supervision of Prof. A. Postigo. Since 2008, he has maintained a long-standing collaboration with ISOF-CNR, where he conducted part of his doctoral studies and held several postdoctoral positions under the supervision of Dr. C. Chatgilialoglu. He is currently an Independent Researcher at CONICET (Argentina), Research Associate at ISOF-CNR, and Tenured Professor of Organic Chemistry I at UBA.

ResearchResearch interests focus on radical and photocatalytic processes, sustainable synthetic methodologies for the selective incorporation of conventional and unconventional fluoroalkyl groups into organic molecules, organochalcogen chemistry, and mechanistic studies of biologically relevant radical transformations.
