We are pleased to share some wonderful news: Federica Ruani was awarded a few days ago of a prestigious recognition for her research work highlighting the quality and impact of her studies.
Federica has been awarded the Prize to Scientific Research and Technological Innovation, established by the Lions Club Bologna and dedicated to Prof. Claudio Bonivento. The award, created to celebrate the commitment of young researchers pursuing doctoral studies, has become a benchmark for the scientific community in Bologna and beyond. It is supported by the Lions Club Bologna, the University of Bologna, and the Bonivento family, and since 2009 it has been dedicated to the memory and scientific contribution of Prof. Bonivento. The Bonivento Prize rewards values such as excellence in research, value for the community, forward-looking vision regarding potential impact, and commitment and dedication.
This year’s edition awarded two winners ex aequo, selected among the best doctoral theses. Federica’s thesis, titled “Light induced processes – from supramolecular systems to photoanodes”, supervised by Nicola Armaroli, stands out for the originality of its approach and for its innovative contribution to the study of light-induced processes in different kind of materials, spacing from complex supramolecular systems to solid state catalysts and photoanodes.
Ruani, Researcher at ISOF since 2021, works in the field of photochemistry and photophysics, and her effort was last awarded not long ago at the the Advanced Materials area prize during the 2025 edition of the Scientific Days of the Department of Chemical Sciences and Materials Technologies (DSCTM).
