PHOTONICS FOR HEALTH, ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT LAB
Group leader: NICOLA ARMAROLI
We are a team of chemists investigating the light-matter interaction at the molecular, supramolecular and macromolecular level. Our expertise spans across several disciplines such as synthesis, theoretical chemistry, photochemistry, photophysics, biochemistry, materials science, optoelectronics.
Currently, our MAIN RESEARCH ACTIVITIES are:
- Solar-to-electricity and solar-to-fuel energy conversion: fundamental processes and devices (e.g DSSC, LSC)
- VIS-NIR emitting molecules, polymers and transition metal complexes for the fabrication of electroluminescent devices
- Supramolecular and nanostructured systems for sensing, imaging, diagnostics and drug delivery
- Photochemical and photocatalytic systems for environmental remediation
We rely on state-of-art facilities and are committed to further extend our wide network of academic and industrial collaborations.
