Dr. Francesco Barigelletti
Personal background Francesco Barigelletti was born in Argelato (Bologna), June 5, 1944. On 1970 he got the "Laurea in Chimica" at G. Ciamician Department of Chemistry, the Faculty of Science of the University, Bologna. After a post-doc period spent at National Research Council of Italy (CNR) with the Istituto di Fotochimica e Radiazioni di Alta Energia (FRAE-CNR, Bologna, now ISOF-CNR) he was appointed Researcher in Photochemical Sciences. Scientific background On general terms, his scientific activity has been concerned with photoinduced energy and electron transfer processes in molecular and supramolecular species as useful models for designing energy conversion and storage devices at the molecular level. Most of the dealt with species typically contain photoactive and electroactive chromophores based on Ru(II)-, Os(II)-, Ir(III)-, Re(I)-complexes. His publications include 180 full papers in refereed journals (ISI citations: h_index=45) and 130 contributed papers based on communications at conferences, symposia and other meetings.
