Roberto Zamboni (b. 1956), Physicist of the University of Bologna, is the Director of the CNR Institute of Organic Synthesis and Photoreactivity (ISOF) in the Department of Chemical Science and Technologies of Materials (DSCTM).
He is appointed as the Project Leader of "Nano-organized sistems with electronic, photonic and magnetic properties" by DSCTM and the Head of the Materials-Environment Technopole AMBIMAT, a CNR and Emilia-Romagna Region consortium, which is a micro-nano technological platform for manufacturing (Manufuture). During the last 10 years he has been coordinator of a CNR research unit in EU projects related to the strategic topics of exploitation of organic systems and hybrid technologies for advanced high tech areas and responsible of national PF and PS projects.
The solid-state chemical-physics properties of electroactive and photoactive molecular systems, particularly of thin films, belong to his general background. Linear and nonlinear optical spectroscopies, both pulsed and CW laser excited, FT-IR and Raman are internationally recognized experimental techniques at the base of his scientific activity. Organic optoelctronics (OLED, OTFT, OLET, OPV) is a dominant field of his activity in the last 20 years. Presently, his major interest is in biomaterials for bio-optronics based on a on-going silk-platform.
He was invited as a speaker to several dozens of international conferences and is the author of more than 160 publications on international peer reviewed journals (WoS h-index: 33).
