Overview
MAFO group activity deals with the production and characterization of organic materials for technological applications in the fields of microelectronics, photovoltaics and medicine. The group’s activity and expertise spans from molecule synthesis, to self-assembly and characterization at the nanoscale, to device fabrication and testing. Principal materials studied comprehend different fluorescent dyes, oligo- and poly-thiophenes, fullerenes, coronenes, perylenes, graphene and DNA. Main characterization techniques are Scanning Probe Microscopies (AFM, STM, Kelvin Probe, etc.), absorption-photoluminescence spectroscopy, NMR, X-rays diffraction, time-of-flight, etc.
